Defense 1942
Action - Strategy Games
Developer: Pete Baron, Andrew Rowe, and Kevin Macleod
Game Overview:
Defend Singapore from the invading Japanese army in this tower defense game. Defense 1942 features six types of soldiers and three ground-effect devices. Every round completed will give you money, five lives, and three upgrade points which can be used to modify a soldiers power, reload speed, and range.
Most of the work in this game is done before each round, which consists of setting up your troops by selecting them from the side menu and placing them on the field. Your money is carried over from round to round, which means you must be careful to budget appropriately and not waste capital on extra troops.
While a bit on the easy side, and requiring less interaction during gameplay than some other defense games, Defense 1942 is a fun game with nice graphics, detailed troop animations, and well-balanced level design.
