Epos
Game Overview:
Epos is a well crafted RPG adventure game with a simplistic item system and complex spell and skill upgrades. Make your way across the world map, with each point described by enemy territory where there is a chance of attack, and places of safety where you can visit the shop or stay at an inn.
Keep your party members alive by filling up their health and MP using items purchased at the shop. Health can also be rejuvenated by casting spells during battle, or staying at the inn. After leveling up, attribute talent and stat points where needed. Talent points refer to the characters magical abilities and available skills. Stat points refer to a characters strength, magic, vitality, and speed properties.
In order to upgrade talents beyond the first row, you must save up points from leveling up multiple times. Enemies in each area of the world map have distinct elemental strengths and weaknesses, so having a variety of spells available is handy. At the end of each area on the map is a boss. The game is automatically saved along the way.
Another type of item available to the character are signets. One signet can be assigned to each member of the party. These have an overall effect on the battle strategy and include advantages such as receiving more gold after battle. Epos is really well balanced and the boss battles normally take everything you have got to get through them which creates a fun challenge.
Defeating bosses correspond to the awards won throughout your travels on the world map. There is a nice story line to follow, which is concisely written. The game is controlled with the keyboard and includes a built in tutorial. Press backspace to exit a menu.
