Gone To The Dogs
Genre: Flash Sports Simulation Games
Developer: Shockwood & Robotjam
Compete for hi-scores (money earned) over a 20-week dog-racing training course. Buy one of four dogs to start and proceed to buy items and upgrade the dog's physical and mental attributes with training sessions. There are five attributes (fitness, speed, stamina, reaction time, and attitude) which can be improved by hiring the services of the four dog trainers.
Gone To The Dogs is a detailed game which offers 20 items to be purchased at the shop. Some of these items increase the effectiveness of a particular training regime, others provide an overall immediate boost for a certain attribute. There are 5 'illegal' items to purchase as well, which can be deployed before a race, but can occasionally backfire with an expensive fine.
Each week is represented by a race and a training session. You have the option of which difficulty of race to play at any time, which creates more possibilities to strategically make money. Before each race, you have the option of betting on a dog to win, which does not necessarily have to be your dog. The race screen graphics are bright and colorful, which include various weather conditions, familiar spectators, and great animation.
